This document has been created by OPSS to set out information on online marketplaces’ current approach to the sale of sand-containing toys and other products via their platforms. It is being shared with local authorities for information, to support existing follow-up activity relating to local cases and investigations. It is not intended to suggest a change in local authority regulatory approach, prioritisation, or enforcement activity. OPSS continues to liaise directly with all online marketplaces in relation to matters relating to asbestos in sand products.
